Background Data for Calanus helgolandicus - more than a guest in the north?

DOI

Time series data. Stage specific abundance of Calanus helgolandicus in the depth ranges 0-50-200-500 mbs, sampled monthly from June 2017 to June 2018. The Dataset contains conductivity, temperature, depth (CTD) data with every sampling event.

Species determination by genotype. Sampling gear: Hydrobios Multinet 200 um mesh size.

This time series is part of a project mapping four sympatric Calanus species in Skjerstadfjord, Northern Norway. Abundance data for other Calanus species will be published in its own dataset.

Results from the dataset: Abundance data for each stage og Calanus helgolandicus at the depth ranges: surface (0-50 mbs), middel layer (50-200 mbs), and deep layer (200-500 mbs).

The study based on this data provide strong evidence that reproduction is taking place in the Skjerstadfjord, North of the Arctic Circle.
