Source organisms of bacteriohopanepolyols (BHP) in soil and sediment samples from Bayelva drainage area

DOI

Distribution of bacteriohopanepolyols (BHPs) in different soil profiles and in fluvial and marine sediments along the pathway of transport in a small catchment in the high Arctic at Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard (79N, 12E).

*m/z 727 and m/z 1132 are novel BHP structures . They have characteristic parent ions ([M+H]+) at m/z 802 and 816 (non-methylated and C-2 methylated homologues, respectively) and terminal group ions at m/z 192.
