Size distribution of stones on a glacier and on the seafloor at HAUSGARTEN station EG-IV in 2021

DOI

In 2021, a small glacier carrying terrestrial stones was observed near HAUSGARTEN station EG-IV. Researchers visited the glacier via helicopter and photographed stones with a Nikon D850 camera. A ruler was included as a size scale in images. Stones on the seafloor were recorded in a transect at station EG-IV using the OFOBS camera system on the same expedition (PS126) in 2021. Laser points in OFOBS images served as a size scale. The sizes of individual stones on the glacier and on the seafloor were measured using ImageJ.
