To examine the influence of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) on 231Pa/230Th in the North Atlantic from the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) to the Holocene, we developed new age models for two sediment cores (MSM58-13-2 and MSM58-28-4). These models were based on radiocarbon (14C) ages of mixed planktonic foraminifera species, measured by accelerator mass spectrometry at the University of Bern. Radiocarbon ages were calibrated using the IntCal20 calibration curve with PaleoDataView. Marine reservoir effects were corrected using location- and time-dependent estimates for open-ocean surface waters based on model simulations covering the last 50 kyr. The calibrated and reservoir-corrected ages were then used to construct the age models with Bacon v2.3.9.1, applying 10,000 iterations and modified Student's t-distribution parameters (t.a.=10; t.b.=11).
