Manual snow water equivalent measurements in 2020-2022 at the Bayelva station near Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, Norway

DOI

Understanding snow and permafrost processes and changes requires long-term observational datasets. This dataset adds manual measurements of snow water equivalent (SWE) and snow depth during the seasons 20/21, and 21/22 within the footprint of the automated SWE measurements at the Bayelva permafrost long-term observatory for validation. The data is carefully processed and quality-controlled and the resulting dataset adds valuable information to the unique long-term data record of the Bayelva station and serves as a baseline for future studies.
