The current dataset contains experimental data of the flow around a 5:1 rectangular cylinder in laminar and turbulent flows at Reynolds number between 210000 and 350000. Time-resolved velocity fields obtained from streamwise planar large-scale particle velocimetry tracking, cross-stream velocity fields obtained from 2D3C stereo particle image velocimetry, and time-resolved pressure measurements on the cylinder. Different parametric variations are gathered in the dataset : free-stream turbulence conditions (turbulent intensity below 1% or of 4%), angle of attack of the cylinder (0 and 2° relative to free-stream) and geometric variations of the front edges of the cylinder (sharp, rounded).
This dataset can be used for the refined study of the flow separation region around the cylinder and its reattachment dynamics, as test case for numerical simulation tools, exploring data assimilation techniques. It completes the already large database available on this geometry through the BARC.
