JaguarID dataset is a processed camera trap video dataset that shows the right side of 5 individual jaguars recorded on 19 day and night videos in dense forests.
The dataset consists of:
- 19 videos, 20-30 FPS (1_videos.zip)
- extracted frames for all videos (2_frames.zip)
- detection JSON files for all frames, for all videos (3_annotations.zip)
- cropped annotations for all frames, for all videos (4_cropped_bounding_boxes.zip)
Metadata is provided in JaguarID_metadata.xlsx.
The coulmns in the xlsx are the following:
- animal_id: ID label of the individual
- video_id: ID for the video out of the 19
- viewpoint: the body part that can be seen on the frames (right for all)
- frame_id: ID of the given video frame
- image_width: width of the frame
- image_height: height of the frame
- bbox_x1: x coordinate to the top left corner of the bounding box
- bbox_y1: y coordinate to the top left corner of the bounding box
- bbox_x2: x coordinate to the bottom right corner of the bounding box
- bbox_y2: y coordinate to the bottom right corner of the bounding box
- bbox_width: width of the bounding box
- bbox_height: height of the bounding box
JaguarID dataset was collected at 0.5°N 79.2° W under permit No. MAATE-DBI.-2021-0187. The data collection work was conducted within the Reassembly project and approved by Jocotoco under Jag-2023-1. The study involved only non-invasive methods (e.g., remote sensing/observation) and no animals were captured, handled, or harmed.
