Local Structure in Ni-Co-Cr alloys

This experiment will quantify the local structure in the solid solution phase of Ni-Co-Cr alloys. Diffraction data will be acquired from a series of alloys, with a varying Ni:Co ratio, to high values of Q. Analysis of the data will be performed using GSAS and RMCProfile, from which the local structure will be determined. These findings will provide invaluable information as to the nature and stability of the matrix phase in new Ni-base superalloys.
