Transcriptomics of immune priming in the sea anemone Exaiptasia pallida

This study identified the transcriptomic state associated with immune priming in the sea anemone Exaiptasia pallida. Sublethal pre-exposure to the coral pathogen Vibrio coralliilyticus confers increased pathogen resistance in a subsequent pathogen challenge in primed anemones in comparison to naive hosts. This work characterized the transcriptomic state of primed and naive anemones prior to and 4 four hours following pathogen challenge.
