Field pathogenomics identifies lineages of Magnaporthe oryzae in rice leaf samples with blast symptoms collected from Italy, Philippines, and Bangladesh

Rice blast is caused by a fungus that belongs to a Magnaporthe oryzae species lineage. We isolated RNA from rice leaf blades harvested from the infected rice fields of Italy, Philippines and Bangladesh in 2017, and obtained sequence data using RNA-seq and Illumina sequencing technology. Our field-pathogenomics approach identified several lineages of M. oryzae in symptomatic samples. Data generated from this project is freely available to public.
