Validation sample data for X-ray scattering tensor tomography. The sample has three bundles of carbon fibers with a diameter of approximately 12 μm that were inserted into a 4ⅹ4ⅹ4 mm3 PMMA container box (J. Kim et al., Appl. Phys. Lett., 2020). The data collection contains the recorded (raw) projection images of the continuous measurements, the extracted directional scattering data, and the full-volume data scattering tensor reconstruction. Raw data are stored in the scientific data exchange schema for hdf5 files (De Carlo et. Al, 2014), while the directional scattering data and the reconstruction data are stored as .npy files. The raw dataset contains 1000 projections for 360 degrees of rotation at each tilt angle. The extracted directional scattering data contains 100 projections at each tilt angle (down sampled) with eight measured scattering directions on the detector plane: G = [[-1, 0, 0], [-0.92, 0, 0.38], [-0.71, 0, 0.71], [-0.38, 0, 0.92], [-0, 0, 1], [ 0.38, 0, 0.92], [0.71, 0, 0.71], [0.92, 0, 0.38]]. The reconstruction volume data has 7 scattering sampling directions (channels): S = [[1, 0, 0], [0, 1, 0], [0, 0, 1], [1, 1, 0], [1, 0, 1], [0, 1, 1], [1, 1, 1]]. Data were collected at the TOMCAT beamline X02DA of the Swiss Light Source.
