Petroleum-driven enrichment of Labrador Sea cold adapted microbial communities

This work provides insight into the microbial community composition and succession of aerobic bacteria enriched by petroleum products (diesel, crude oil) in microcosms inoculated by Canadian subarctic marine sediments while incubated at in situ temperature (4 degrees Celsius). Hydrocarbon-amended microcosms were further subjected to varying nutrient conditions to explore biostimulation as a remediation response in cold temperature environments.
