Total sulfur data from marine sediment core E-8X, Danish North Sea, covering the Paleocene-Eocene boundary

DOI

The data set contains raw datafiles of total sulfur concentrations from a LECO CS230 analyser at Newcastle University. The total sulfur analysis was carried out in duplicates in 2016 on 25 samples from core E-8X. Certified calibration carbon/S standards (0.815/0.0032%, respectively) supplied by Leco UK Ltd, along with analytical blanks were measured every 20 and 25 analytical samples, respectively. The attached file includes a raw data compilation of absolute abundances of sulfur, and are utilised as geochemical proxies to decribe bottom water redox changes in the central North Sea during the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum.
