Partnering for equitable health and social care - Celebrating the impacts of NIHR Applied Research Collaboration 2019-2026

DOI

Funded from 2019 to 2026, NIHR ARC North Thames was one of 15 competitively awarded Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR).We have dedicated ourselves to understanding and implementing the changes needed to improve outcomes for people and communities and to reducing inequalities between social groups. Our ARC region – stretching from London to the Essex coast and home to six million inhabitants – is the most unequal and ethnically diverse in Britain, where people struggling to survive live cheek by jowl with abundant affluence. Our universities rank second and third globally for public health research, and first nationally for medicine and social policy. This partnership – our tapestry of communities, outstanding academics committed to impact, NHS and local authorities focused on quality and outcomes – has enabled us to deliver the impacts that we share with you here.To everyone who has contributed: thank you.
