STRUCTURAL CONSEQUENCES OF Ar/CH4 PHYSISORPTION IN MEL-TYPE ZEOLITES STUDIED BY POWDER NEUTRON DIFFRACTION

DOI

We aim to understand the structural modifications of a set of complex systems formed by the adsorption of different adsorbates like argon and methane on ZSM11 zeolite. For that purpose, we require high resolution neutron diffraction at 77K and 100K. Adsorption of Ar, 36Ar and CD4 by ZSM11 zeolite at various adsorbate loads will be studied by neutron diffraction in order to find answers to the following questions:- Does the zeolite undergo a phase transition when the gas is physically adsorbed?- Does the adsorbate transform into a commensurate or incommensurate ordered phase when confined within the zeolite channels?
