RNA-seq of klebsiella and KPC-2 CRKP

Noncoding small RNAs (sRNA) with a length of 50-500 nt and no translation function came into the field of study. sRNAs have been shown to regulate bacterial metabolism, virulence and drug resistance by binding mRNA to regulate their stability, inhibiting or activating their translation, indicating important role of sRNA in post-transcriptional control of bacteria. For example, sRNA MgrR in Escherichia coli (E.coli) down-regulates the expression of eptB, resulting in polymyxin resistance. Therefore, sRNA-mediated regulation as a drug target for RNA is a promising strategy for drug-resistant bacteria. However, the expression profile and function of sRNA in KPC-2 CRKP are lacking.</p><p>In this study, we aimed to mine the transcription and sRNA expression profiles of KPC-2 CRKP using RNA-seq and analyze its effect on the resistance of KPC-2 CRKP.
