NaFe0.53Cu0.47As is an antiferromagnetic Mott insulator which connects unconventional superconductivity and Mott physics. The magnetic fluctuations in the ordered state has been established previously, while the fluctuations above Tn is still unclear. Since the presence of short-range magnetic fluctuations is the key to understand the insulating electrical transport behavior in the paramagnetic state, studying the strength of paramagnetic fluctuations is crucial to elucidate the role of electronic correlations in NaFe0.53Cu0.47As. We propose to study the magnetic fluctuations in NaFe0.53Cu0.47As at 250K using MAPS, and we request 6 days of beamtime for our proposed experiment.
