Analysis of bacterial community composition in Minamata Bay, Japan

In order to help reveal possible link between mercury methylation and planktonic bacteria assemblages in Minamata Bay, Kumamoto, Japan, a set of seawater samples collected from the bay was analyzed for the bacterial community composition by 16SrRNA gene sequencing through illumina MiSeq system. The study outcome should have relevance in the field of environmental sciences.
