Data from PhD thesis by Danijela Bogdanovic "Towards a new Era of Fracture Fixation - Photopolymerizable Bone Adhesives based on Thiol-Ene Chemistry"

DOI

Context and methodology

This data was collected within the framework of the PhD thesis by Danijela Bogdanovic. The thesis has been deposited in TU Wien's reposiTUm . The data is currently restricted. The thesis aimed for further exploration and optimization of photopolymerizable bone adhesives, particularly with regard to their degradability and biocompatibility.

The thesis comprises three main chapters, which describe in the following order: 1.) the improvement of the adhesion strength under wet conditions; 2.) the enhancement of the biodegradability of the matrix monomers; and 3.) the improvement of biocompatibility through the establishment of porous structures.

The first chapter covers the synthesis of new primer molecules as well as experimental data obtained from shear-bond-strength measurements. The second chapter describes the synthesis of alternative ene- monomers and the evaluation of their potential as degradable monomers in the final bone adhesive formulation. The third chapter describes the process of producing porous bone adhesives.

Technical details
