Chinese perch (S. chuatsi, S. kneri, S. scherzeri and C. whiteheadi) genome sequencing and assembly

Chinese perch is an important aquaculture fish species in China. In the wild, the species is an aggressive piscivore that once its fry start feeding, feeds solely on live fry of other fish species. Here, we report on a Chinese perch genome project, presenting a long-read chromosomal scale genome assembly of Siniperca chuatsi and the genome assemblies of Siniperca kneri, Siniperca scherzeri and Coreoperca whiteheadi derived from short-read sequencing.
