Transcriptome of the Tentacle of the Jellyfish Physalia physalis

Was performed de novo transcriptome sequencing of the tentacle tissue of the jellyfish Physalia physalis. A total of 31,410,143 reads were obtained and assembled into 34,756 unigenes. Of these, 13,713 unigenes had homologues in public databases. Functional annotation of the unigenes revealed general gene expression profile characteristics in the tentacle of Physalia physalis. A primary goal of this study was to identify putative toxin transcripts.
