Individual, species-specific shell sizes of planktonic foraminifera from the central station of the LTER (Long-Term Ecological Research) HAUSGARTEN observatory in the Fram Strait at two depths intervals (213 m, 2319 m) from a one-year time period (24.06.2014 to 15.07.2015). Samples were collected with two modified automatic Kiel sediment traps installed in a bottom-tethered long-term mooring. Species determination was done based on Brummer and Kucera (2022, https://doi.org/10.5194/jm-41-29-2022). Individual shell sizes of all shells present in 1/8 or 1/16 split of each sample were measured at the umbilical view using a KEYENCE VHX-6000 digital microscope (shell counts in relation to the split of the samples are available separately). Measurements were conducted in 2020-2021.Size measurements were conducted to analyse the evolution of species-specific planktonic foraminifera shell size throughout a whole seasonal cycle, and to compare average sizes at different depth intervals.
