Long-distance wind dispersal of Culicoides from EHDV-infected areas in France

DOI

The dataset was used to investigate the magnitude of Culicoides wind dispersal in the context of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (EHDV) emergence in France, retrospectively and prospectively in 2024. This dataset is a subset of a bigger wind connectivity matrix, which estimates when and how often two locations anywhere in Europe could be connected by wind, based on HYSPLIT simulations adapted to Culicoides survival conditions. The subsets were performed according to the source zone and the period/year considered in the paper entitled: ‘Windborne dispersion of Culicoides midges in Europe: case study with EHDV in France’.
