Raw data files of X-ray diffraction analysis of the clay fraction from 13 sediment cores from the South Atlantic

DOI

Clay fraction less than 2 micron was quantitatively separated by Atterberg method (settling tube), washed, dried and milled. Clay was resuspended and texturized on sample holder for x-ray diffraction.Files are stored in the internal binary format of the software MacDiff; conversion to text files will result in two tab-delimited columns: 1. Angle of goniometer, 2. Counts. Samples were measured with a Cobalt K-alpha bulb in goniometer steps of 0.02 degree. File names consist of core label and depth of sample in four digits cm with leading zeros separated by an underline. Raw data files are stored in one zip-archive per core.
