Evald Flisar, a world traveller who has visited 99 countries and an internationally renowned author whose works have appeared in 242 translations across 40 languages, is also the husband of Jane Bauer, a popular and award-winning children’s author, and the father of an eighth-grade student who won a silver medal for Slovenia at the 18th International Natural Science Olympiad in Dubai. At a time when the world is changing, he has gathered in these letters to his son a series of reflections resembling short essays, intended to accompany Martin on his journey towards adulthood and prepare him more fully for everything that lies ahead.
