Probing the superconducting ground state of the centrosymmetric superconductor LaNiGa2

DOI

This proposal plans to investigate the superconducting ground state of LaNiGa2 which is a centrosymmetric superconductor with a superconducting transition of ~2K. Heat capacity measurements have shown that LaNiGa2 is a weakly coupled BCS superconductor. However, an analogue to LaNiGa2 namely LaNiC¬2 has been shown the break time reversal symmetry at Tc. Therefore, it is proposed to use the MuSR spectrometer, for 4 days, in both longitudinal and transverse to investigate the superconducting ground state.
