Samples of three sympatric species of grunts collected in Bocas del Toro Panama (Caribbean). Transcriptome

Liver transcriptomes of Haemulon carbonarium, H. macrostomum and H. flavolineatum were sequenced, assembled and annotated, to understand the evolutionary history of these sympatric species in the Caribbean. Analyses of gene expression suggested differences in the metabolism and immune response. Meanwhile analyses of dN/dS indicated selection for genes associated with body shape.
