Coccolithovirus serine palmitoyltransferase sequencing in North Atlantic ocean eddies

The goals of this study were to elucidate the abundance and diversity of the coccolithovirus derived serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT) sequences in natural populations of Emiliania huxleyi in North Atlantic ocean eddies. More specifically we wanted to discover the diversity of the linker region that connects the two subunits of the SPT protein: LCB1 and LCB2.
