Sequencing of bacterial community associated with Gambierdiscus

In order to understand the role of bacteria in dinoflagellate physiology and toxigenesis, we have characterized the bacterial community associated with Gambierdiscus balechii, a dinoflagellate that is able to produce ciguatoxins and was able to induce ciguatera fish poisoning in Kiribati, under different nitrogen (N) nutrient conditions.
