Swath sonar multibeam bathymetry during POSEIDON cruise 317/4 with links to raw data files of bathymetry from the Black Sea

DOI

Data acquisition was performed using an Elac SeaBeam 2120 (portable ELAC Bottom Chart MKII) multibeam sonar system . Raw data are delivered within Elac SeaBeam current multibeam vendor format (.xse). Most files where copied to an editable rawdata format (.mb94).During the cruise, problems with the navigation system occured. Therefore, the data may be of poor quality.Raw data can be processed i.e. with the software packages CARIS HIPS/SIPS, Caraibes or with the open source software package MB-System (http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/res/pi/MB-System/). Data are unprocessed and may contain outliers and blunders and should not be used for grid calculations and charting projects without further editing.
