Shewanella, Psychrobacter and Photobacterium from BC Marine Sediment

Shewanella, Psychrobacter and Photobacterium isolated from BC (Canada) sediment 70-90 m below surface. Some Shewanella strains possess vdcA gene encoding a diguanylate cyclase responsible for biofilm formation and cvpA gene encoding Colicin V production protein possibly aiding stress response. They also possess gene cluster involved in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) production.
