This dataset lays the base for Greiffenhagen et al. (in review) and shows surface area (in m²) covered by five different suspension feeder species within a Norwegian Cold-water coral reef site: Acesta excavata, Geodia barretti, Lophelia pertusa (syn. Desmophyllum pertusum), Madrepora oculata and Mycale lingua. The surface area is estimated from ROV (remotely operated vehicle) footage, e. g. from the field of view of the camera that was conducted during the Vulnerable Deep-Sea Habitats in Hardangerfjord Expedition (27.08-28.08.2020 and 26.05.-13.06.2021). Coverage from scaled ROV video frames was measured in Adobe Photoshop software (van der Kaaden and De Clippele, 2021).The data was used to calculate biomass estimates of the specific species from conversions presented in Greiffenhagen et al. (in review) and can be linked to terrain parameters at the same location.
