The BL-MIND Cohort Documentation Dataset contains methodological and descriptive documentation for the Bipolar Lleida-Mood Investigation Neurobiological Determinants (BL-MIND) Cohort, an ongoing observational research platform focused on bipolar disorder. The cohort includes adults receiving care within the mental health services of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain, and integrates routinely collected demographic, clinical, treatment-related, functional, lifestyle, medical, and biological information generated during standard clinical practice.

The initial phase of the cohort is retrospective and is based primarily on electronic health records. Future phases may include prospective follow-up assessments, longitudinal outcome evaluations, and expanded biological characterization. The cohort remains open; therefore, no fixed total cohort size is reported in this documentation release. The first analytical study derived from the cohort included approximately 680 hospital admissions associated with manic episodes; this figure does not represent the total number of cohort participants.

This public dataset does not contain individual participant-level data. It provides documentation describing the cohort design, eligibility criteria, data sources, data-management and quality-assurance procedures, variable definitions, statistical analysis framework, and ethical and governance procedures.
