"Wolf tears glow in orange" is the third poetry collection by scientist, researcher and writer Matej Mertik. His works, including his debut novel Captain, Daisies Are Disappearing on Earth, the literary travelogues Three Hearts – Prlekija and Flight of the Night Parrot, and the poetry collection Iron on the Flies, are characterized by imaginative narrative approaches that reveal a lyrical subject who experiences and perceives the world in his own way. In addition to his literary work, he is also active in the scientific field. As a research associate, he worked at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, where he participated in the group for the protection and electrical integrity of the device during the start-up of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). His work significantly contributes to the development of information technologies and artificial intelligence in Slovenia and to the promotion of science and art in wider society.
