The Domestic Heating Data from the Energy Systems Catapult Living Lab, 2017-2018 was collected to help the energy industry better understand how people use their heating systems; allowing them to design low carbon products and services that meet the needs of consumers. A range of home heating data was collected by the Home Energy Services Gateway (HESG) from approximately 100 domestic properties in the United Kingdom. Further information about these data can be found on the Smart Systems and Heat Website and on the Energy Systems Catapult Website.

Main Topics:

This study includes data collected directly from sensors in each room, such as room temperature, room humidity, gas usage, electricity usage, radiator temperatures, boiler temperatures and water temperatures (hot and cold). In addition, data on how participants use their heating system was collected, including the times they request heating, the target temperatures requests and the type of schedule changes made. Finally, it covers local weather data, including forecasts and local observations.
