Sediment echosounder raw data using the ship's own Atlas Parasound P70 echosounder was not continuously recorded during RV MARIA S. MERIAN cruise MSM129/1. The data cover seamounts in the North Atlantic Ocean, which were predicted in the database of Gevorgian et al. 2023. These seamounts were charted on purpose during MSM129/1 to test how a targeted measuring of those features can be realized using this database as navigational reference points. The device was only switched on above those predicted seamounts, about half hour (2-4nm) before reaching and half hour (2-4nm) after the leaving the feature area. No further parallel spaced survey lines were performed due to tight time constrains. Data was recorded on 4 days between 2024-05-30 and 2024-06-02. Data acquisition was monitored during the entire time. During the cruise in total six predicted seamount were crossed (strait line only) and investigated using the system. The data showed sometimes thin sedimentary layering, but was not further investigated.
