This dataset provides municipality-level information on the residential building stock in Spain, classified into 15 dwelling archetype clusters. The classification is based on residential building characteristics from the 2011 Spanish Population and Housing Census of the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE) and follows the housing typology clusters defined in the Spanish residential building stock segmentation study prepared for ERESEE 2020. For each municipality included in the file, the dataset reports the estimated number of dwellings assigned to each archetype cluster, the total number of dwellings, the estimated total residential rooftop surface, the average rooftop surface per dwelling, and the estimated useful rooftop surface per dwelling. Municipalities with data excluded by INE, mainly very small municipalities with only a few dwellings, are not included. The dataset was generated to support municipality-level modelling of residential rooftop photovoltaic potential and self-consumption analyses in Spain.
