Differential gene expression analysis for symbiotic hydras acquired by horizontal transmission

Hydra vulgaris is a fresh water cnidarian and is able to bear green algae Chlorococcum in the endodermal cells. We compared gene expression between nonsymbiotic polyps and symbiotic polyps that acquired symbionts by horizontal transmission to investigated the immature symbiotic system, hydra-chlorococcum symbiosis.
