Crystal field levels of Na0.77CoO2

The aim of the project is to use McPhase to understand the magnetic order and excitations from Na0.77CoO2. We are able to reproduce the observed magnetic structure and spin-wave dispersion using a phenomenological model, but we would like to understand the physics with the aid of McPhase. Na0.77CoO2 is metallic and, therefore, we are unable to rely on a point-charge model to calculate the crystal-field levels. We, therefore, propose to measure the crystal-field transitions for Na0.77CoO2 using inelastic neutron scattering on MARI.
