Basic measurements of radiation at station Granite Island (2025-12)

DOI
  • Solar tracker was remotely turned off on Dec. 1 and stayed off for the entire month to prevent ice damage from heavy freezing spray and to conserve power (GIM is a solar powered BSRN site) during predominantly overcast conditions. - Ventilators were turned off to conserve power from Dec. 2-7, 15-17 and 22-31.- Due to the solar tracker being turned off, DIF and DIR will be unavailable the entire month. - SWD and LWD will be available for nearly the entire month. The exceptions are Dec. 19-20 and Dec. 29-31 due to heavy ice buildup on or near the radiometer domes/instrumentation. - MET data (Temperature, RH and pressure) were functional the entire month. - Overcast conditions predominated throughout December 2025, reducing available solar power.
