Geochemical data of solid phase sediment samples was gained from short sediment cores in Potter Cove (King George Island, Antarctica) beginning of 2019. The aim of this study was to identify and analyse the distribution and abundance of microbial populations in sediments influenced by enhanced iron input and glacial retreat, comparing 9 sampling sites across the Cove with varying distance to the glacial fronts. Geochemical parameters of the sediment (elemental sulfur, total carbon, total organic carbon, total nitrogen, water content) were measured on one core per site.
