Child Car Seat Laws in Transportation Network Company Vehicles

As Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) like Uber and Lyft are expanding day by day, it is essential to assess safety standards for children traveling in these vehicles. Hence, we developed a scoring system to assess each state’s safety standards for children traveling in TNC vehicles. State statutes were reviewed using Nexus Uni, a legal research database. The scoring was based on two subjects pertaining to the child car seat laws for TNCs: clarity and stringency. For each parameter, three criteria that could impact child safety in TNC vehicles were formulated. This data has questions along with the answers.
