The aims of this project were : (1) to provide reliable statistical information on the composition, numbers and distribution, of the glasshouse workforce classified by a range of socio-economic variables; (2) to assess labour mobility between glasshouse enterprises within the industry and other sectors of employment. To estimate inflows and outflows from the workforce and the rates of recruitment and turnover; (3) to provide knowledge of the career structure of the sector.
