16S rRNA gene sequencing, Alteration of intestinal microbiota of gibel carp (Carassius auratus gibelio) after traditional Chinese medicine feeding

To explore the effect of addition of traditional Chinese medicine in feed on intestinal microbiota of gibel carp (Carassius auratus gibelio), cages experiment was set up in a commercial fish farm. As the formal feeding trial, the experimental cages were fed YPF feed. The control cages were fed the normal (control) feed, and the experiment last three months. Both groups were fed at a ratio of 2% of their body weight from Monday to Wednesday, and 4% from Thursday to Sunday. At the end of the feeding experiment, we collected 16 intestine contents and a culture water sample, and extracted bacterial DNA for Miseq sequencing of 16S rRNA gene.
