Bacterial community dynamics during alginate degradation in the South, Equatorial, and North Pacific Ocean

This study investigated the response of marine bacterial communities to alginate in the South, Equatorial, and North Pacific. We characterized particle-attached and free-living taxa in mesocosm experiments via amplicon sequencing of (i) 16S rRNA genes and (ii) cDNA reverse-transcribed from 16S rRNA.
