The goal of the study is to unveil the nature of Cladophorales chloroplast genomes, since strategies that resulted in successful sequencing of other green algae chloroplast genome have consistently failed.</p><p>To date, only the sequence of one gene (rbcL) has been sequenced from one Cladophorales species.</p><p>This study will shed light as well in chloroplast genome evolution of green algae.
