Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) Module on Caring, Q3 2009

DOI

The Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) began in September 1997 and ran until Q2 2017 when it was replaced by the Labour Force Survey (LFS). While the main purpose of the QNHS was the production of quarterly labour force estimates, the QHNS also conducted special modules on different social topics each quarter. The questions on caring were included in the Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) in the three months from July 2009 to September 2009 (Quarter 3 2009). This module was requested by, and developed in consultation with, the social partners. The focus of the module was on those providing unpaid informal care and not those receiving care. The questions asked about the extent and nature of caring provided as well as the impact of caring on the life of the carer.
