This dataset collection results from uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) image acquisitions of a thermo-erosional gully site on the Baldwin Peninsula in Northwestern Alaska (BAP-B). The gully has incised more than 10 m deep into the permafrost deposits and extends about 900 m from its source on the tundra upland to its mouth at the northern coast of the Baldwin Peninsula. The site has been studied during multidisciplinary field work targeting permafrost degradation and rapid thaw processes since 2022. The dataset collection includes both digital surface models (DSM) and orthomosaics that were derived from optical UAV imagery acquired during field work. This was done using photogrammetric software (Agisoft metashape) for structure-from-motion (SfM) image processing. They were then finely co-registered using AROSICS (Scheffler et al. 2017) and xDEM (xDEM contributors 2024) with respect to the orthomosaic and DSM from June 2024. Details on the image acquisition and processing steps are included in the individual datasets of this collection.
