Field-induced transition to a chiral nematic state in a triangular antiferromegnet

PID

We propose to probe the transition to a chiral nematic state induced by the fields above 17 tesla in CuCrO2, a triangular antiferromagnet. The transition is predicted based on the results of our recent NMR measurements. The magnetic structures with long range chiral nematic order parameter were predicted in different theoretical models of frustrated magnetic systems, but to our knowledge still have not been definitely observed experimentally.
