Macropodus opercularis isolate:MV0001 Genome sequencing and assembly

This is a draft de novo assembly of the Paradise Fish (Macropodus opercularis). Paradise fish are an "air breathing" fish that lives in brackish, poorly oxygenated water and has a specialized organ called the "labyrinth organ" used to capture and absorb oxygen from the air. It has distinct behaviors and is potentially a new model organism for evolutionary and developmental biology studies.
